If you go to a ballooning event, get there early. Balloons depend on that temperature difference of cool surrounding air versus hot balloon air
This first set of photos at 6 AM shows the crews hauling out the equipment. The balloons are blown up by an inflator fan, but kept aloft by the heater (look for the flame above the basket).
